Victims Identified in Deadly Crash in Oswego; Police Say Alcohol and Speed Possible Factor_1433213891521300349

Three people are dead and two people in the hospital after a one-car motor vehicle accident that occured last night in the City of Oswego. The accident occurred on East Albany Street on Shampine Drive in the evening around 8:13.

Police say alcohol was consumed by all people in the car and the driver, Robert Senke may have been driving at a high rate of speed. The car crashed into a utility pole. Senke as well as passengers Justin Purdy and Antonio Mendez were killed in the crash. Donald Odin and Jeremy Tassie were transported to Upstate University Hospital where police say they are expected to recover.

Odin (the registered owner of the vehicle) and Tassie were transported to Upstate Medical Center where they were treated for injuries and are expected to recover. Senke (the driver), Purdy, and Mendez were declared dead on the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates that all occupants of the vehicle had consumed alcohol prior to the crash and that speed may have been a factor. Reports indicate that the group had left Tassie’s residence a few minutes prior to the accident and were heading to apartments on City Line Road. East Albany Street between East 13th Street and City Line Road will remain closed for several hours as police continue their investigation.
