UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – 50 Forward Mohawk Valley and the Central New York Veteran’s Outreach Center in Utica are coming together to honor Vietnam Veterans.

The organizations will be celebrating Vietnam War Veteran’s Day on Wednesday, March 29, by holding a pinning ceremony at the Veteran’s Outreach Center at 1:30 pm on Washington Street in Utica. The special lapel pin, which will be handed out across the United States on this day, is marked with the phrase, “A Grateful Nation Thanks and Honors You,” on the back.

This commemoration is scheduled to be held every year until 2025, by order of the President, and has been held in Utica since 2016. Since 2017, the Veteran’s Outreach Center and 50 Forward Mohawk Valley has pinned over 1,000 Vietnam Veterans.

All veterans who served on active duty in any branch, regardless of location between November 1, 1955 and May 15, 1975 are asked to attend the ceremony.
