UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY-TV) – The Otsego County department of health is offering vaccines at the Otsego county fair. They are administering the Pfizer, Modern, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
The vaccine site is located at the EMT tent, and anyone attending the fair is eligible to be vaccinated. The department of health is also giving away other public health information including tick kits and bike helmets. The pop-up vaccine clinic comes as Otsego county is currently at a substantial level of community transmission for covid-19.
‘We have seen a small increase in our numbers which is very concerning,” said Laura Bryant, a licensed practical nurse who works for the Otsego County department of health. ‘With kids going back to school, colleges going back into the area, we are really hoping that people come out and get their vaccination. This new variant that’s out is a little concerning, but we are hoping that especially since the college and high school kids are going back kids bring stuff home from school. . .” she added.
The department of health plans to vaccinate at the fair again on Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
