Utica to Host American Legion Baseball Tournament

American Legion baseball is back in Central New York For the second year in a row… Utica’s Murnane Field will play host to the best youth baseball. This tournament has seen the likes of Josh Hamilton and Mark Teixeira. The Legion tournament brings in 8 teams from across the state and organizers say it’s great exposure for the young athletes.

Tournament Organizer Mike Macchione says, “When we have competitive teams out on the field and people get an opportunity to watch these young guys perform and actually see them grow whether it’s onto college or professional sports that’s an exciting opportunity.”

The tournament will start on July 31st and run through August 4th. The winner of this tournament will head to regionals and eventually a chance at the World Series.
