Utica Shooting Victim Dies


Shot Early Thursday Morning In West Utica

The man shot in West Utica early Thursday morning has died. Utica Police report that Mark Peak, 33, of Utica, died this morning of wounds he sustained when shot while sitting in a vehicle outside of a house on Lenox Ave.

Police were called at 1:52AM, Thursday, to 907 Lenox Ave for a report of shots fired. Responding officers found a male who had been shot several times. The man told police he had been sitting in a vehicle when an unknown person approached the vehicle and opened fire. The victim was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with potentially life threatening injuries. He underwent emergency surgery and passed away Thursday morning.

As of late Thursday morning, Utica Police were still at the scene gathering evidence and conducting their investigation. As of that time, they did not have any suspect information.
