Utica man arrested on 7 counts including weapons possession and criminal mischief

UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Utica Police Department is reporting that a man from Utica has been arrested for threatening people with a gun during an alteration.

Around 3:00am on October 6th, the UPD was called to Elmwood Place in Utica. When they arrived on the scene, they immediately detained 26-year-old Jeyser Perezmeran. During the initial investigation, Officers learned that an argument broke out between Perezmeran and multiple other individuals, during which he began to brandish a handgun and was repeatedly threatening to shoot the other people involved.

At some point before police arrived, the weapon was removed from the scene. But fortunately, it was located and able to be recovered during the investigation.

26-year-old Jeyser Perezmeran of Utica has been charged with the following:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon Second Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon Third Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • Criminal Mischief Fourth Degree
  • Menacing in the Second Degree
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Harassment in the Second Degree
