It’s been just a few days since it was announced that the Utica Comets will be playing in the American Hockey League, and they’ll be playing atthe Utica AUD. Officials say residents are responding warmly. The city’snew team sold more than 500 season tickets as of Saturday afternoon – just one day after the announcement.

“The response has been overwhelming. We had 50 people lined up at the door before we even opened our doors on Saturday. It’s been a pleasant surprise and its a great feeling knowing we can provide something that gives the Mohawk Valley so much pride and gives Uticans something to get behind,” says Mark Caswell Jr., Utica Comets director of Communications.

Season ticket prices range from $390 dollars to $732 dollars. They have not yet set General Admission ticket prices. As far as merchandise and jerseys, officials say they’re working on that right now and they’ll be available to the public as soon as possible.
