USDA Secretary: No guarantee small dairy farms will survive

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — President Donald Trump’s agriculture secretary said Tuesday during a stop in Wisconsin that he doesn’t know if the family dairy farm can survive as the industry moves toward a factory farm model.

“In America, the big get bigger and the small go out,” Perdue said. “I don’t think in America we, for any small business, we have a guaranteed income or guaranteed profitability.”

SUNY Morrisville’s 37th annual Autumn Review Sale, “Magic of Morrisville,” is Saturday, Oct. 12. The sale, run by the SUNY Morrisville Dairy Club, starts at 11 a.m. at the college’s Arnold Fisher Dairy Complex off of Eaton Street.

Run by Morrisville faculty and students in dairy production classes, proceeds from the sale support dairy club trips, the dairy judging team, academic programs, and various activities and events.
