Oneida Castle – An 82-year-old man is in custody after a standoff with police and Sheriff’s Deputies in Oneida Castle.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office has yet to identify the man, nor have they indicated what charges he might be facing.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around 1 a.m. when they responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute on Seventh Street.
At one point, Sheriff’s Deputies heard a shot fired. They did not know if the man was firing at any officers.
A woman who was initially in the residence was able to escape, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Several homes around the residence were evacuated and Route 365 was closed during the incident.
