ONEONTA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A two-car crash in the town of Oneonta has sent two people to the hospital, including a child.

New York State Police and other emergency responders were called to the accident on State Highway 23 near Interskate 88 at approximately 4:45 pm on Wednesday, October 25. A preliminary investigation shows that one of the cars rear-ended the other vehicle. The first vehicle subsequently rolled over after the impact.

The operator of the first vehicle — a 42-year-old male from Grand Gorge in Delaware County — was not transported to a hospital. However, his seven-year-old passenger was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for head injuries.

The operator of the second vehicle — a 38-year-old female from Bloomville, also in Delaware County — was transported by ambulance to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown for unknown injuries. Her 11-year-old passenger was not transported.

The crash remains under investigation by New York State Police. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
