Two men were killed in an ATV accident Sunday night in the Town of Little Falls. New York State Police report that they were called shortly before 9:00PM Sunday for a report of an ATV and truck collision. The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 170 and Yellow Church Road in the Town of Little Falls. The occupants of the ATV were both ejected from the vehicle and died at area hospitals due to their injuries.
According to the Trooper’s investigation, Jason Sullivan, 33 of Little Falls, was driving the ATV westbound on Yellow Church Road. Sullivan did not stop for the stop sign at the intersection with Route 170 and the ATV hit a van that was southbound on Route 170. Matthew Cotton, 37 from Herkimer, was a passenger on the ATV.
Sullivan was taken by ambulance to Little Falls Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Cotton was air lifted by helicopter to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the van, Alexander Stone, 23 of Little Falls, was uninjured.
Troopers did not say if either of the occupants of the ATV were wearing helmets. The investigation is continuing.
