UTICA — Two men are facing charges in connection with a two-year-old murder at a now-closed East Utica bar.
Jonathan Brown, 32, of Utica is charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. U.S. Marshals arrested him Tuesday at a relative’s home in the Bronx.
Kent Burgess, 29, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon. He’s already in prison in Attica for criminal possession of a controlled substance in an unrelated case.
Brown is accused of shooting and killing Andre Oliver-Kenny outside Two J’s Bar on Rutger Street in January 2014. The bar closed its doors almost immediately after Oliver-Kenny’s death.
The U.S. Marshals Service has transferred custody of Brown to the Utica Police Department. He’s been arraigned and is being held in the Oneida County Jail.
