Trenton man arrested on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges

DEERFIELD, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY-TV) – The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a man from Trenton has been arrested for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

Around 7:30 am on Wednesday August 11th, the Sheriff’s Road Patrol received a call for a domestic dispute that was taking place in the Town of Deerfield. When units arrived on the scene, they witnessed a male suspect fleeing in a vehicle. Several attempts were made to pull the vehicle over. But the suspect would not comply and eventually got away.

Back at the scene of the incident, investigators learned that the male suspect was 31-year-old Andrew J. Jones of Trenton New York.

Police were finally able to contact Jones by telephone during which he agreed to turn himself in to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. 

Andrew Jones is now in custody and has been booked on the following charges:

  • Burglary in the Second Degree (Class C Felony)
  • Criminal Contempt in the First degree (Class E Felony)
  • Other misdemeanor charges. 

He will be arraigned at the Oneida County Centralized Arraignment at-a-later-time. 

The victim has an Order of Protection in place from a March 2021 incident with Jones, where he was arrested for Strangulation/obstruction of breathing in the Second Degree.
