TRAVEL ALERT: Route 13/North Peterboro Street bridge in Canastota temporarily closing

UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY-TV) – The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Utica Regional Office has issued the following traveler advisory for motorists in the Village of Remsen, Oneida County:

From Monday, September 13 thru Friday September 17, 2021 the section of NYS Route 13/North Peterboro Street between Thruway Exit 34 and Rapasadi Drive just north of the Thruway will be closed to thru traffic due to resurfacing work on the bridge over the NYS I 90 Thruway.

Signed detours will be used for the duration of the work. Variable message signs have been installed notify motorists of the temporary bridge closure and directing them to the appropriate detour routes.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
