NEW HARTFORD, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — The New York State Department of Transportation has issued a Travel Advisory for the town of New Hartford beginning next Tuesday, October 10.

Sign installations throughout the town will begin on Tuesday, October 10 and run through approximately Wednesday, October 18.

The DOT will be working on Genesee Street between Golf Avenue and State Route 5 between Tuesday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 11. Overnight work will take place on Thursday, October 12 on State Route 5 between State Route 12B and Genesee Street. No work will be done on the signs in New Hartford on Friday, October 13 or Saturday, October 14.

Work is expected to start again on Sunday, October 15 on State Route 5 between Genesee Street and Wilbur Road. That work is expected to continue until Wednesday, October 18.

All work is scheduled to take place between 10 pm and 6 am on all dates stated.

Motorists should be prepared for brief traffic stoppages during work. Variable message signs will notify motorists when work is occurring.
