ROME, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A travel advisory has been issued by the New York State Department of Transportation for the City of Rome for the start of next week due to a road project.

The DOT is advising motorists that the ramp on State Routes 365 and 26 in the area connecting the westbound route to the eastbound route on Wednesday, November 15. The left lane will also be closed while crews install lighting. The project is expected to start at 6 am on Wednesday, November 15 and run until 4:30 pm, weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour while the ramp is closed.

In addition, due to crews completing groundwork in the same area, the left lanes of State Routes 365 and 26 both east and westbound will be closed on Monday, November 13 through Tuesday, November 14. This project will also occur between 6 am and 4:30 pm on both days.

Motorists are also urged to slow down in work zones, as fines are doubled for speeding in work zones.
