Some area students arelooking to go green while staring on the silver screen. The Oneida HerkimerSolid Waste Authority is holding its third annual Trash Can Film Festival. Studentsfrom kindergarten through 12th grade can make 30 to 90 second films aboutrecycling. The waste authority says it hopes this will be a fun way forchildren to learn about reducing, reusing, and recycling.
Jamie Tuttle, the Authority School RecyclingCoordinator says, “Whenthey start doing it at such a young age, recycling just becomes a naturalbehavior, it’s just what they do. And as they get older and grow up like I saidit’s just a learned behavior.”
The deadline for students to submit their work is December 2nd.
