Teenagers plead not guilty in Worcester murder

COOPERSTOWN, NY (WUTR-TV) — Three teenagers, indicted for offenses including murder, were arraigned and plead not guilty to all charges in Otsego County Court on Thursday.

Anias Soto, 17, Alexander Borgreen, 17, and Dylan Robinson, 16, face second-degree murder, as well as burglary and robbery charges in the Oct. 10 death of Worcester man, Kenneth Robinson; Dylan’s dad.

Borgreen and Robinson were also indicted for arson, not Soto.

Robinson’s body was found in his home on Head Road, after state police first responded for a fire report.

Oneonta man, Nicolas Meridy, was also indicted on the same charges as Borgreen and Robinson.

During Thursday’s court appearance, Judge John Lambert granted Soto’s request to lower bail to $2,500.

Otsego County District Attorney John Muehl agreed:

“My main issues here with consenting to the lowering of bail of Miss Soto is her parents are here, which means her parents are involved, and are probably going to keep an eye on her. She has no prior criminal history. But, most importantly, the new ‘Raise the Age’ legislation has the defendant in Buffalo (where Soto was housed in detention), 250 miles away from her family, and as well as her defense attorney which makes it very difficult for him, and her to prepare a defense.”

Robinson and Borgreen returned to detention facilities in Syracuse.

The teens are due back in court on Jan. 13 for motions.

Meridy’s arraignment is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16.
