SUNY POLY’s Future Hilltop Residence Hall

SUNY POLY is striving to make their campus a bit greener. They will be the first campus to get a new dormitory that is zero net energy ready and sero net carbon certified. The $28 million project funding comes from the Dormitory Authority of New York (DASNY). SUNY POLY hopes the dormitory will have a positive cognitive impact on it’s students, changing the culture to be more positive overall. The project was inspired by Governor Cuomo’s ‘New Green Deal’ Initiative, to make New York’s power to be 100% clean and carbon-free by 2040. Eyewitness News reporter Jenn Seelig has the story.
