The Stevens-Swan HumaneSociety of Oneida County held its annual golf outing today at the SkenandoaGolf Club in Clinton. The tournamentincluded a day of golfing, lunch, dinner, door prizes and raffles. The charity fundraiser raised money for the society’snon-profit shelter for abandoned and abused animals. The tournament coordinator David Hunter saysthe cause truly hits home.
“We have an animal, a pet dog, from there andthey’re beautiful animals and people just don’t take care of their animals theway they should and they do what they can to make the animals healthy and findthem homes,” said Hunter.
Hunter also says he hopes to raise betweenfive and ten thousand dollars this year. The registrationfee was 100 dollars per golfer.
