State of Emergency renewed in Oneida County

UTICA–Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente renewed the ‘state of emergency’ he put into effect on Oct. 31, as county departments continue to respond to historic flooding.

“Extending it gives us… towns and villages, the ability to continue to expend what’s necessary, in terms of cost, in terms of equipment, man power and overall the ability without going through hoops and red tape to get into those areas without various permitting.”

Picente says residents who experienced flood damage can still apply for county financial assistance by calling 2-1-1 or the Community Foundation at (315) 735-8212.
