TheCity of Utica is thanking Albany for the state aid payment that is on its wayearly this year. Usually arriving in late March, over $10 million in state aidpayment is now on its way.  

MayorRobert Palmieri thanked Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisipersonally saying, “if not for their strong advocacy on this and so many otherfinancial issues, we would have little chance of saving our city.” 

Palmieristresses that this aid is Utica’s normal amount given by the state and is not aloan or special assistance.   

BothBrindisi and Griffo are pleased on the speediness of Albany’s response to thefunding deficiencies.  

SenatorGriffo said the aid is a very important tool for the City of Utica infinalizing this year’s budget.  Assemblyman Brindisi says, “In many ways,city government survives day-to-day.  This funding will help Utica pay forsome current necessities.”
