UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Oneida County Sheriffs arrested a Rome man after he made a threat of mass harm at the Oneida County Courthouse.
Sheriffs were called to the courthouse in Utica on Tuesday, March 28 at approximately 2:30 pm for a call regarding the threat. Anthony Russell of Rome was quickly found by Oneida County Special Patrol Officers, transferred over to Rome police, and subsequently arrested.
Sheriffs say that there was no threat to the public at any time.
Russell was then turned over to Oneida County Sheriff deputies and taken to the Oneida County Law Enforcement building for processing. He was then charged with Making a Threat of Mass Harm, a misdemeanor. He was released on an appearance ticket and will return to the City of Utica court at a later date.
