Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Central New York

Scattered Showers Developing Across The Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Central New York, including Oneida, Madison, Herkimer and Otsego Counties until 9:00PM Friday.

A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT SOUTH CENTRAL ONEIDA AND SOUTHERN MADISON COUNTIES UNTIL 3:00 PM EDT. AT 2:26 PM EDT, DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER ERIEVILLE, OR 11 MILES WEST OF HAMILTON, MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.

SMALL HAIL AND WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE: EATON, HAMILTON, CAZENOVIA, MORRISVILLE, STOCKBRIDGE, AUGUSTA, NELSON, WATERVILLE, LEBANON AND GEORGETOWN.

HEAVY RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM, AND MAY LEAD TO MINOR FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS.
