Pres. Trump signs National Defense Bill

President Trump signs the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 at Fort Drum. Once signed by the president, an annual piece of legislation authorizes funding for various U.S. military outlets–this bill provides $717 billion. President Trump is scheduled to depart Fort Drum for Griffiss International Airport in Rome where he will then travel to Utica for a fundraiser to support incumbent Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, and her reelection bid in New York’s 22nd congressional district. The event at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Utica is closed to press.
