Potential traffic impact on Lafayette Street starts Monday

News

UTICA N.Y. (WUTR) — Lafayette Street, between Cornelia Street and Broadway, may be restricted to one lane at certain parts of the day from Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17. A flagger will direct traffic when the lane closure is required.

The lane restriction is to ensure the safety of the community as demolition continues on buildings within the footprint of the future MVHS Regional Medical Center. The building to be demolished on these specific days is close enough to the road to potentially pose a risk, so the street may be restricted to one lane in order to ensure everyone’s safety.

Updates on this and other construction information will be available on the MVHS website here: www.mvhealthsystem.org/construction.
