UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Utica Police arrested a woman on Monday, March 20 after she set a neighbor’s rug on fire.
Police say that at about 3:15 in the morning, they and the Utica Fire Department were called to the Kennedy Plaza Apartments regarding a possible arson investigation. During the investigation, it was found that the victim was inside his apartment when he noticed his hallway mat on fire and being pushed under his door.
The victim then opened the door to put the fire out and saw a female, 47-year-old Doretha Rolle, running for the elevators.
Officers then located and detained Rolle before she was transported to the Utica Police Department. She has been charged with fourth-degree Arson, a felony.
