UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Utica Police arrested a woman after an investigation into charges of abuse.

On Sunday, March 19, police were made aware of a complaint involving children being hit with electrical cords, resulting in noticeable contusions on swelling on two children, which prompted police to call Child Protective Services to the home. After an investigation, those two children, along with three others, were taken to a safe location by CPS.

Further investigation into the incident also resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Sherrie Roman of Utica. She is currently being charged with two counts of second-degree assault, a felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
