Partial demolition, renovation for old GE building in Utica

Building owners to market property for light-industrial, warehousing and/or distribution

UTICA–The former General Electric building at 1900 Bleecker Street will be partially demolished and renovated for future use.

Bowers Development LLC owns the property, and shared renderings of the building’s future exterior Monday afternoon.

Bowers’ Vice President Michael Licata says the intent is to have one tenant on site, though a marketing campaign is underway.

Licata eyes light industrial, distribution and warehouse operations for potential use.

The building is around 250 thousand square-feet today, and demolition work will reduce it to around 80 thousand square-feet.
