Parish Celebrates 100 Years

Our Lady of Lourdes in Utica is set to celebrate their 100th year milestone. Currently located in South Utica, the Parish’s First Church is no longer standing, it once sat on the corner of Genesee and Barton Avenue. The church served the Welsh and Irish communities living in the area at the time. Back in 1919, Monseignor Lynch from Old Historic Saint Johns Parish on Bleecker Street Felt the need to start a new Catholic Presence on the cities south side.
