WIC, or Women, Infants and Children is a program that offers a variety of healthy foods to low-income moms. And today the WIC program in Oneida Vounty held it’s third annual ‘Family Fun Day’ in Utica. Children played games and took part in raffles and give-a-ways while moms learned some tips to keep their children healthy and active.
“WIC helps us out a lot with milk, cheese, bread, stuff we wouldn’t be able to afford. Give them more healthy food, they grow up more healthy, better teeth and they grow up strong and big,” says Tina Ricca, WIC participant.
The WIC program in Oneida County serves nearly 6,000 women and their children.Today’s event was free and open to the public.
