VIENNA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Oneida County Sheriffs have made a second arrest in connection with a 2022 sexual abuse investigation in Vienna on Monday, May 1.
Sheriffs arrested 40-year-old Jeremy Belden of Vienna in 2022 after it was found that he subjected a 12-year-old female to sexual contact. Belden was arrested on July 22 of last year and charged with first-degree Sexual Abuse. He was subsequently sentenced to 14 years in state prison.
Further investigation by the Sheriff’s Child Advocacy Center has found that his live-in girlfriend – 40-year-old Carrie Renk of Vienna – facilitated the sexual contact between Belden and the child. Renk was arrested without incident at her residence on Monday, May 1.
Renk has been subsequently charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor. She was arraigned at the Sheriff’s Correctional Facility and released on her own recognizance. Renk will appear in Vienna Town Court at a later date.
Services have been offered to the victim and an order of protection has been issued.
