LENOX, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Madison County Sheriffs arrested an Oneida man after it was found he didn’t pay taxes on his business for over three years.
Sheriffs arrested 49-year-old Douglas Case of Oneida on Tuesday, March 28. Following a lengthy investigation, it was found that his bar, the Back Roads Tavern in the town of Lenox, failed to file or pay sales tax from 2017 to 2020. In all, Case owed over $68,000 to the state during that time.
Case was charged with second-degree Grand Larceny and eight counts of third-degree Criminal Tax Fraud, both felonies.
He was arraigned in the Town of Lenox court and released on his own recognizance.
