One person is dead, and two homes are lost, after a fire broke out in a residential neighborhood in the town of Vienna.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of 324 Drive 37 just after 11:00 Thursday morning. The home was fully engulfed forcing mutual aid departments to fight from the outside.
The blaze later spread to a neighboring home. Both homes are a total loss and the Red Cross is assisting those who have been displaced.
” Together is what caused that second residence to catch on fire, its only approximately 10 feet from the first and that was the main cause and with Oneida lake being right there and the winds coming it spread right into that second residence. ” Joseph Matthews, North Bay Fire Chief said.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department and State Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, they will continue their investigations along side Northbay fire department to find the origin of this blaze.
