VERNON, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — New York State Police are investigating an early-morning motor vehicle accident that sent two people to the hospital.

State Police in Oneida responded to the accident at approximately 7:40 am at the intersection of Stoney Brook Road and State Route 31 in Vernon. Further investigation found that a pickup truck — driven by 18-year-old Brycen Paver of Durhamville — was traveling east on State Route 31. Paver’s truck then crossed over into the westbound lane, where it struck a car head-on. That car was driven by 42-year-old Christie Conley of Camden.

Both drivers were transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where they are listed in serious condition.
