Many communities are still on the road to recovery from the flooding that took place on Halloween. Following the storm, the New York State Department of Transportation went to various problems areas to conduct a damage assessment. Route 8 in the town of Ohio was severely damaged from flood waters.
Three areas along Route 8 were damaged by the rising waters from the West Canada Creek. The New York State DOT has been working on repairs seven days a week from sunrise to sunset. Crews are aiming to have all lanes repaved by early next week.
