NEW HARTFORD, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A New Hartford man is facing several charges after police arrested him on Sunday, November 12 following a domestic incident.

Police were called to a residence on Saturday, November 11 on Paris Road in the village. Upon their arrival, officers say they spoke with a female victim who reported being in an argument with the suspect — 49-year-old Scott Sequin of New Hartford.

Upon further investigation, it was alleged that Sequin and the victim began to argue, when the argument escalated. When that happened, Sequin allegedly armed himself with a baseball bat and damaged a window. Sequin then allegedly subjected the victim to physical contact, and caused minor lacerations to various parts of her body and face.

Sequin then accessed a vehicle, and while driving from the residence, hit the victim with the vehicle. The victim’s injuries were deemed to be non-life-threatening.

New Hartford Police arrested Sequin the next day. He is being charged with:

  • a misdemeanor count of Reckless Endangerment,
  • a misdemeanor count of Criminal Mischief, and
  • a misdemeanor count of Harassment.

Sequin was arraigned in the Oneida County CAP Court. An order of protection has been issued on behalf of the victim.
