New Facility At Solid Waste Authority


 The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority now has a facility that will turn food scraps into energy. The $3.4 million facility uses an  anaerobic digestion process to create the energy. Hamilton College has signed on with the program and will drop of food waste to be converted into energy. The Solid Waste Authority hopes the facility will bring economic and environmental benefits to the area. 
Half of the funding for the facility came by way of grants from the Department of Environemtnal Conservation, the remaining cost will be funded by the Solid Waste Authority.
