MVHS details hospital project work slated for winter

UTICA, NY (WUTR-TV) — Mohawk Valley Health System has identified work that is planned to occur through the winter months, for the proposed downtown Utica hospital.

MVHS says building abatement and demolition will continue, also noting underground utility, water and sewer work will begin in December.

Following demolition, soil testing will occur to determine if the ground needs strengthened in order to support the building’s footings.

In late winter or early spring, MVHS says foundation work will forge ahead.

The proposed hospital’s opening is slated for the beginning of 2023.
