Long-Term Hockey and Comets Fan Gives Back

News

A long-term hockey and Comets fan, Dr. Michael Lavelle held a Utica Comets get together at his office in Yorkville. Eyewitness News Reporter Nicole Todd stopped down at the event.  Nicole what can you share with us?

Marc, Comets players, Mike Zalewski and Joe Cannata greeted fans who stopped down and they could take pictures with and admire hockey memorabilia around the office.

Dr. Lavelle decided to merge the two things he loves most: hockey and helping our veterans to help give back to those in the area this thanksgiving. Donations of non-perishable food items will be for the “Feed Our Vets” food drive.

There’s nothing about the game I don’t like. There’s absolutely nothing-I like the sound of a good splat, I like a good goal, I even like the smell of the ice. I just love this game. And one of the reasons I actually settled here, was because they had the old Devils team here, back in ’91 when I first moved here. I was waiting for a team to come back; I’m really excited this team is here.

You can stop by Dr. Lavelle’s office to donate items until next Wednesday. Reporting, Nicole Todd, Eyewitness News.
