UTICA, NY – There is a warm front lifting through late Monday evening into Tuesday, bringing changeable weather into your Election Day.

As the warm front lifts through overnight, the temperatures increase as do wind speeds, too. Temperatures will rise into the low and mid 50s overnight into Tuesday morning with strong wind gusts developing mainly over the hilltops South. Wind gusts could reach 30-40mph in these locations.

Tuesday morning will be balmy and breezy along with a few passing rain showers. If you are heading to the polls first thing in the morning, expect temperatures in the mid to upper 50s!

A cold front will slice through with gradually cooler air in the wake of the cold front through the afternoon. After starting pretty mild, it will turn colder with temperatures falling into the 40s in the afternoon. It will remain quite gusty through the afternoon with only a few spotty sprinkles or perhaps some wet snow flurries by the evening.

Much colder air will be in place by Wednesday with yet another weather maker approaching. Most of the Wednesday will remain dry, however some scattered rain showers should develop by evening. Some wet snow will mix in at higher elevations through Wednesday night into Thursday morning. There could be some slick spots for your Thursday morning commute. Any rain or rain/snow mix tapers by Thursday afternoon.

After this fast moving weather system, it will cool off the rest of the week but overall calmer weather is expected. Highs will fall back into the 40s with a few spotty lake rain or wet snow showers of little consequence by late week and into the weekend.
