UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Utica Comets fell to the Rochester Americans Thursday night by a final score of 4-2, ending the Comet’s season while the Americans advance to play the Laval Rocket in the North Division final.

The Comets had the lead for the majority of the game, falling behind 1-0 early but answering with two goals of their own to make the score 2-1 going into the first intermission. They would hold that lead through the second period of play, but Rochester would storm back in the third, scoring three unanswered goals, including an empty-netter, to take the lead 4-2 and win the game outright.

This was game five of a best-of-five series, the Comets taking games one and four and the Americans taking games two, three, and five to win the series 3-2 and advance to face Laval in the North Division Final.
