Shots Fired in New York Mills

Around 6:39 a.m. on November 25th shots were fired in the vicinity of the Fitness Mill on Main St. in New York Mills.

Tristan Short 35, of New York Mills, was in the parking lot on his way to his vehicle in the morning and was shot twice. The unknown suspects then fled before the police arrived on the scene. The police do not believe there is any danger to the public in the area at this time, as they suspect that Short was the specific target and not a random casualty of circumstance.

Multiple agencies were present to assist The NYMPD including New York Mills Fire Dept, Kunkel Ambulance, Yorkville Police Dept, New York State Police, New Hartford Police Dept, Utica Police Dept, Whitesboro Police Dept, Whitestown Police Dept, and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
