Local

OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY-TV) – The Otsego County Department of Health is reporting that it currently remains at a HIGH level of community transmission.

There have been:

408 reported cases since September 1st.

3 deaths in the past 7 days in individuals with ages ranging from 42-78.

94% of those individuals who passed away were unvaccinated.

The OCDH asks that if you test positive for COVID using a home test to please notify them of the results so they can continue with accurate contact tracing and hopefully reduce the spread of the virus.

Vaccination against COVID-19 is the safest and is most effective way to prevent hospitalization and/or death. Those who are unvaccinated are at greater risk of these outcomes. If you have not been vaccinated yet, you can find a clinic at www.otsegocounty.com or https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/ and many pharmacies are offering vaccinations.
