OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY-TV) – The Otsego County Department of Health (OCDH) is reporting that the county is currently at a SUBSTANTIAL level of community transmission according to the CDC.
Th CDC defines a “substantial level of community transmission” as an 8-9.99% positivity rate within a 7-day period.
The OCDH is following in-line with the CDC’s guidelines and recommends everyone, including people who are fully vaccinated, to wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission. Health officials say this, along with getting vaccinated, will help minimize the Delta variants potential of spreading rapidly.
Currently Otsego County is at 50.5% of the population fully vaccinated. Otsego County DOH will be holding an additional POP-UP Vaccine clinic at the Otsego County Fair TODAY August 4th from 12-6 at the EMS building.
