UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Utica Police Department is reporting that 34-year-old Anthony McRorie of Utica has been arrested for drug and weapon possession.

Around 11:00pm on December 12th, the UPD’s Crime Prevention Unit was conducting a proactive narcotics enforcement stop on Whitesboro Street in Utica. The officers attempted to stop McRorie and another unknown man as they were on the street, but when the got out of their patrol cars, the two men ran.

A brief foot pursuit ensued. McRorie was finally caught on the 800 block of Whitesboro Street and taken into custody. The other suspect unfortunately got away.

During the investigation that followed, brass knuckles and two baggies containing what would later be identified as cocaine and methamphetamine were allegedly found inside McRorie’s pockets.

Anthony McRorie was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Prior Conviction)
