CNY Thanksgiving travel forecast

CENTRAL NEW YORK (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – With Thanksgiving just around the corner, what can we expect weather-wise? Well, if you’re traveling locally here in CNY, we’ll break it down for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

CNY on Wednesday: Mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will start off chilly in the teens and low 20s but by the afternoon, will warm up into the high 30s and low 40s. Besides the cold start, it will be a good day for travel.

CNY on Thursday: Mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures in the mid to upper 20s and low 30s during the morning hours but will warm up into the 30s and 40s by the afternoon. Widespread showers move in Thursday evening after dinnertime. Best to travel earlier in the day before the showers hit in the evening.

CNY on Friday: A mix of rain and snow showers in the morning, transitioning to mainly snow showers in the afternoon. Less than an inch of snow expected across most of CNY by Friday evening. Temperatures will start in the low to mid 30s but will slowly drop throughout the day into the upper 20s and low 30s by the evening. Periods of low visibility and hazardous road conditions will make traveling Friday more difficult.
