Local Teacher Ready to Return to In-Person Learning

News

(Utica, NY), Vice President of Student Affairs in the Utica Teacher’s Association, Kirsten Vivacqua is ready to see the students again. Students K-6 are returning to classrooms using a hybrid model.

Vivacqua teaches reading at General Herkimer Elementary in North Utica. She says incorporating this new model will be challenging because, “Masking up, staying six feet a part, trying to help the children that are there and then on top of that I can’t really be there for the students that are still home.”

She is fully vaccinated and feels comfortable being back in the classroom.
