WHITESBORO, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Whitesboro Police arrested a Rome woman in the morning of Thursday, August 24 on disorderly conduct charges after she locked herself in a bathroom.
Officers were called to the Durham Public Library on Main Street in Whitesboro at approximately 8:45 am on Thursday. Upon their arrival, officers encountered the suspect – 43-year-old Ellie Mae Jones of Rome – locked in the library’s bathroom. Access was made to the bathroom and Jones exited the library.
While in the parking lot of the library, Jones allegedly became belligerent and disorderly after officers told her multiple times to leave. She was subsequently arrested and transported to the Whitesboro Police Department and processed without further incident.
Jones was charged with Disorderly Conduct, a violation under New York State law. She was issued an appearance ticket, returnable to the Village of Whitesboro Court.
