UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY-TV) – Utica mayor, Robert Palmieri joined the Utica Zoo’s Board of Directors this afternoon to share the special announcement that the zoo is bringing back three popular events this summer. After a year-off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, returning to the zoo’s lineup are: Sunset Sips every Friday in July and August; Brew Fest on August 7; and Wine in the Wilderness on September 25.
“Of course we’ll have to follow any changes that might arise if things start to, you know, move a little in a different direction, but at this point we’re anticipating that we won’t have a reduction in our capacity, because we are following the state and the CDC’s guidelines. And it sounds like we can have events, so we’re excited about that.” – Andria Heath, Executive Director
“It is good that the zoo, that we’re back on track to enjoy the quality of life that makes it very real to be in the Utica area.” – Robert Palmieri, Mayor
Heath was excited to share that Bright Nights is also returning in 2021. The 2nd annual holiday lights walk-through event will start on black Friday and run through December 23. More information on all of these events can be found on the zoo’s website.
